Children's Therapy

COUNSELLING FOR TODDLERS, CHILDREN, PRE-TEENS, TEENS, YOUNG ADULTS AND PARENTS IN DURHAM REGION & SURROUNDING AREAS
Children and teens can face challenges that affect how they think, feel, behave, and connect with others. At Evergreen Counselling Collective, we provide a safe and supportive space to help young people understand their experiences, build coping skills, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges. Therapy may be helpful for concerns such as: Anxiety, depression, or low mood Suicidal thoughts or self-harm Self-esteem and confidence Grief and loss Friendship or relationship difficulties Parent-child or family challenges Emotional and behavioural concerns Therapy looks different for every child. Younger children may benefit from play, drawing, and creative activities, while older children and teens may engage more through conversation, reflection, and practical skill-building. Our therapists provide empathy, encouragement, and validation while helping young people recognize their strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and build more helpful ways of thinking and responding. Depending on the child's age and needs, therapy may involve the child individually, parents or caregivers, or the family together. Parent sessions can also provide guidance around child development, parenting strategies, and supporting a child's emotional well-being.
