Anxiety

You don’t have to get rid of pain to build a meaningful life.” — Russ Harris

Anxiety

At Evergreen Counselling Collective, we understand how overwhelming anxiety can feel—especially when it seems to show up without a clear reason. You might notice persistent worry, a sense of unease, or feeling constantly “on edge,” even when things appear fine on the surface. It can feel confusing, exhausting, and difficult to explain to others. Anxiety can show up in many ways. Emotionally, it may feel like excessive worry, irritability, restlessness, or a sense that something is wrong. Mentally, it can look like racing thoughts, intrusive worries, difficulty concentrating, or a constant sense of anticipating the worst. Physically, anxiety may show up as a racing heart, tightness in the chest, muscle tension, difficulty breathing, sweating, shakiness, or trouble sleeping. While anxiety is a normal human response that everyone experiences at times, it can become more difficult when it feels frequent, intense, or begins to interfere with your daily life. For some people, the source is clear. For others, it can feel harder to identify, which can add to feelings of frustration or confusion. The good news is that anxiety is highly treatable. Even if you’ve been struggling for a long time, meaningful change is still possible. In therapy, we work collaboratively to understand your experience of anxiety, explore the patterns that may be keeping it going, and develop tools that support you in feeling more grounded and in control. Together, we create a personalized approach that fits your needs and goals, helping you build skills to manage anxiety and move toward a greater sense of calm, clarity, and confidence.
