Self-Esteem & Self-Worth
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
— Buddha
Self-Esteem & Self-Worth
Self-worth and self-esteem are key foundations of mental wellbeing. Self-worth refers to your inherent value as a person, while self-esteem relates to how you view your abilities and sense of confidence. Together, they influence how you relate to yourself, others, and the challenges you face in daily life.
When self-worth and self-esteem are strong, they support healthier boundaries, more balanced relationships, greater resilience, and increased confidence in navigating life’s challenges. When they are low, they may show up as self-criticism, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, fear of failure, or feelings of inadequacy.
At Evergreen Counselling Collective, we provide a supportive space to explore and strengthen self-worth and self-esteem. Our therapists can help you gently identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs, build self-compassion, recognize your strengths, and develop more confident and authentic ways of relating to yourself and others.
