Sex & Intimacy Counselling
SEX COUNSELLING FOR INDIVIDUALS AND COUPLES IN DURHAM REGION AND SURROUNDING AREAS
What’s normal is far more varied than people talk about.
At Evergreen Counselling Collective, we believe sex & intimacy counselling is a normal, supportive, and evidence-based form of counselling—not something to feel embarrassed about. It’s a specialized area of therapy that explores how sexual history, relationships, mental health, stress, and beliefs about sexuality can all influence a person’s sexual wellbeing.
People come to sex and intimacy counselling for many different reasons, including low desire, differences in sexual interest between partners, difficulty with arousal or orgasm, performance anxiety, pain during intimacy, or feeling disconnected from their sexuality. These concerns are common, and you are not alone in experiencing them.
Our clinicians provide a safe, respectful space where these topics can be talked about openly and without judgment. Sex & intimacy counselling may include education about sexual functioning, support in understanding emotional and relational factors, and practical strategies to improve intimacy, connection, and satisfaction. Approaches are always tailored to your individual needs and goals, whether you are attending as an individual or as a couple.
Sex & intimacy counselling can also be integrated with broader psychotherapy, helping you explore the emotional and relational patterns that may be impacting your sexual wellbeing. And if you are already working with another therapist, sex therapy can still be a focused, additional layer of support.
You don’t need to wait until things feel “serious enough” to seek help. Support is available, and your experience is valid as it is.
